Spanish Full Immersion

Immersion courses are highly recommended to improve your Spanish skills in a relatively short time. Granada is home to high quality Spanish courses offered by Nicaragua Spanish Lessons and its pioneer organization Proyecto Lingüístico Eco-Cultural. Classes are given mainly in Centro Cultural Convento San Francisco and occasionally at two other locations in Granada: Casa de Los Tres Mundos and Colegio San Antonio, all of them in Granada historic downtown. Convento San Francisco and Proyecto Lingüístico have a mutual cooperation agreement. Part of the profit benefits Centro Cultural Convento San Francisco. Proyecto Lingüístico also promotes and sponsors small preservation and environmental projects in small rural communities as well as small educational projects for poor children in Granada and nearby communities.
THE PROGRAM INCLUDES: Lodging in a private room with a local family, three meals a day seven days a week, laundry to be done by the host family, cultural activities, afternoon excursions, dance and cooking lessons. Cost also includes twenty hours of active Spanish instruction per week and class materials for each participant. A certificate of completion is given at the end of the course.
Spanish And Culture Immersion
Spanish and Culture Immersion course is orientated to those who want to learn Spanish and be immersed in the local culture by getting in touch directly with people and workers, artisans and artists, visiting yet predominant indigenous villages and interacting with the population. Personalized course with emphasis in one handicraft specialty. The course combines Spanish and special art instruction in artisans' workshops. Pottery, bamboo works and others are offered as specialties. The handicraft specialty instruction is the student choice and must be decided previously to start the program. Course is offered individually or in small groups for the same price. Minimum program required is two weeks. Spanish instruction is given in Convento San Francisco.
The course does not prepare participants to be professionals in pottery-making or bamboo works in just a couple of weeks but sets up the basic knowledge for further follow up and development. Besides of being fun, the course provides a good challenge to discover your own skills, interact with live culture and experience it. You can even get rid of stress!

Cost also includes twenty hours of active Spanish instruction per week and class materials for each participant plus special active participation in cultural activities, art and ceramic pottery lessons, interactive participation in home made productive factories, handicrafts workshops, and surprise activities! Public transportation fares to the workshops in villages are supplied by the program. Special meal in a local restaurant and a certificate of completion are given at the end of the course.
One-On-One Private Tutoring
Available in all Pacific Regions! At your own site, at your own pace!
Spanish private tutoring program is mainly offered in Managua city. Actually, it is the main and only linguistic product we offer in the capital of the country. Proyecto Lingüístico teachers are sent directly to the participants' house, hotel, office, or apartment to avoid long distances rides in an unknown environment for a visitor. We do not have a school location in Managua yet but we do offer private tutoring one-on-one at the students own site. This course is offered in Managua, Granada and all nearby cities, towns and villages.
The cost for one-on-one private lesson is calculated per hour and it includes some class materials. Personalized lessons and optional topics are main characteristics of this program. The minimum program is four hours per week. The extension of the program and amount of class hours is decided by the student. We have a flexible schedule adjusted and adapted to the student time availability and needs. The participants plan their own program to meet their needs at their own pace.
The one-on-one Spanish tutoring program at the students own site and pace is available in mostly all cities located in the Pacific Region. Just call us and we will be there!
Spanish For Medical Personnel
Due to the fast growing Spanish-speaking population in North America, learning Spanish has become not only a priority of a huge importance for health care professionals but of great benefit to the medical personnel working in those communities with large number of Spanish speakers.
Orientated to health professionals already graduated and working in the medical fields as physicians and nurses, the course also enrolls nursing students who are currently living and studying in large Spanish-speaking communities in North America especially in the United States. This course provides realistic practical situations, specific vocabulary, grammar structures and language to be able to communicate with Spanish-speaking patients. Besides of having the opportunity to learn about the Latin-American culture the course will enable you to improve your communicative abilities giving emphasis to the oral communication.

Spanish For High School Teachers
 Modern times have taught us the importance of knowing Spanish and how helpful it is for a better professional performance especially if you are living and working in an area where a considerable amount of Spanish speakers live, study and work. Spanish as a Second Language facilitates educators to face today challenges. There is a great advantage in speaking both languages English and Spanish. By being bilingual, teachers are allowed to explore other culture and have access to more information than others do not.
Orientated to junior and high school teachers of Spanish language and general subjects, the program offers a practical Spanish course focused on the fast improvement of the speaking ability. This course is offered individually or in small groups for the same price. All Spanish instruction is given in Convento San Francisco.

Cost also includes twenty hours of active Spanish instruction per week and class materials for each participant. A special meal in a local restaurant is given at the end of the course as well as a certificate of completion.
Volunteer Opportunities
 Volunteering is possible in Granada or vicinities through Proyecto Lingüístico Eco-Cultural. Here is a list of what you might be doing in a volunteer work. Others not listing are also possible.

o Music lessons
o Painting and drawing lessons to children
o Carpentry work
o Building /furniture painting
o Cooking lessons for children
Educational and sport materials such as foot balls, pencils, color pencils, crayons, temperas, notebooks, paper, individual pencil sharpeners or any other supplies are welcome as donations to poor school children. These donations are done directly from donators to receivers through Proyecto Lingüístico Eco-Cultural.
IMPORTANT: None of the programs include insurance or medical expenses.
Students are given the option to choose living with a host family or staying in a hotel in Granada. If asked, our staff will kindly help make the necessary arrangements in the hotel of the students preference.
